Possible
Distributors for Our Films
WarpFilms:
Warp Films is an independent film and television production
company based in Sheffield & London, UK, with a further affiliated company
Warp Films Australia based in Melbourne, Australia. Films that they are famous
for supporting are 71, Four Lions, This Is England, Kill List as well as a
number of short films made by Lynne Ramsay, Richard Ayoade and Chris
Cunningham. I think this distributor would be good for our film because not
only are they local but they also have worked with small independent
films/short films.
Blumhouse Productions:
Blumhouse Productions is an American horror film and
television production company, founded by Jason Blum. Blumhouse produces micro
and low-budget horror movies, such as the Paranormal Activity, Insidious, The
Purge, Sinister and Ouija franchises. In 2014, Blumhouse produced the Academy
Award–nominated drama film Whiplash, for which Blum was nominated for the Academy
Award for Best Picture. Although Blumhouse Productions are known for making
feature-length horrors more than anything else, they have recently expanded into
short films and therefore I think they would be a suitable distributor for our
film, what with our genre of film being a psychological thriller.
Studio Canal:
StudioCanal UK (formerly Optimum
Releasing) is a film distributing company working in the United Kingdom and
Ireland. The company releases many films, including foreign language films,
Studio Ghibli films and independent British, Irish and American films in the
United Kingdom and sometimes Ireland. StudioCanal have distributed a wide range
of films from large productions to smaller productions like ours. StudioCanal
are a widely known distribution company also and could bring in a larger
audience and a perhaps provide a wide release instead of a limited release.
